Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces dark chocolate finely chopped or chips
  • 8 ounces white chocolate finely chopped or chips
  • ½ cup peppermint candies or candy canes crushed
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract optional, for enhanced flavor

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Baking Sheet:
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt the Dark Chocolate:
  • In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate using a microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each interval. Alternatively, use a double boiler.
  • Once smooth, pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly using a spatula. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to set slightly.
  • Melt the White Chocolate:
  • Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate. If desired, stir in the peppermint extract for added flavor.
  • Add the White Chocolate Layer:
  • Gently pour the melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate layer and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the Peppermint Candy:
  • Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies or candy canes over the white chocolate while it’s still warm. Press lightly to ensure they stick.
  • Chill and Set:
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes or until the bark is completely set.
  • Break into Pieces:
  • Once hardened, remove the bark from the baking sheet and break it into bite-sized pieces using your hands or a knife.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best results, such as Ghirardelli or similar brands.
For a nut-free version, ensure the peppermint candies are processed in a nut-free facility.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or refrigerate for longer freshness.
Customize by adding crushed cookies or a drizzle of caramel for a unique twist.
